The Oaks Welcomes Makoto Fujimura - Mon., Sept. 30

We are excited to welcome artist, Makoto Fujimura to The Oaks on Monday, September 30. Mr. Fujimura will be speaking to the entire student body from 1:45-2:45pm in the sanctuary. Parents are encouraged to attend along with your child.

Back to School Night - Tues., Oct. 1 - 6:30pm

All parents should plan to attend Back to School Night on Tuesday, October 1, beginning at 6:30pm. 

Grammar school parents will begin in the sanctuary with Mr. McEachran, Grammar School Dean, and then attend sessions in their child's classroom.

Secondary school parents will begin in the gym with Mr. Trotter, Logic & Rhetoric School Dean, followed by 7th and 9th grade orientations and an open house time in the gym to talk with teachers. See the schedule below for further details.

Sign ups for parent/teacher conferences and volunteer opportunities will be available after the initial sessions.

Dads Prayer - Wednesdays at 8am

The Dads prayer group will be meeting on Wednesdays from 8:00-8:30am in Mr. Dowers' office this school year. All dads are welcomed and encouraged to attend.

Pizza Lunch 

Friday pizza lunch is back again this year and will be served most Fridays. Punch cards may be purchased in the classrooms (K-6) or the foyer (7-12) on Friday. Students can pay with cash or a check made payable to The Oaks (please do not combine payments for grammar students)
Prices:
Pizza - $1.50 per slice (cheese, pepperoni, or Hawaiian)
Sides - $2.00 (includes applesauce, chips & granola bar)
Punch Cards:
Pizza - $15 for 10 slices
Sides - $20 for 10 sides

Grammar school classroom newsletters and Bible memory verses are now available on Jupiter under "Materials". A letter was sent home with your child on Thursday, September 26, with details and your personal password.

Directions for Jupiter can be found on the "Getting Started with the Jupiter Portal" page of the website. Please note that not all areas have been opened up at this time.

Debate Team - First Practice Thurs., Sept. 26 - 3pm

The Oaks debate team will begin practices Thursday, September 26 in Miss Woodroof's room. Team practices will be Mondays and Thursdays from 3-4pm. The total cost for participation, including tournament entry fees, is $150, which can be paid in installments (please see Miss Woodroof for details). For more information about The Oaks debate program please see the letter below.

College Brown Bag Visits - Begin Tues., Oct. 1 

College admission representatives will be visiting The Oaks and speaking to interested students, parents and teachers at lunch time throughout the fall. Please see the attached schedule for details.

Director of College and Career Counseling, Mrs. Lynn Gibson, will be hosting a College Financial Aid Workshop on Monday, October 7 at 7pm. RSVPs are requested. Please see the flyer for details.

The PSAT test will be administered at The Oaks on Wednesday, October 16 for students in 9th-11th grades. Please return the registration form with payment to the school office no later than Friday, October 11. Juniors are automatically registered, so please bring your payment to the school office by this date.
