Formal Fridays Begin Sept. 26
Once again this year, Fridays will be our weekly formal uniform day. Uniform Highlights: Hair
This school year we'd like to highlight different parts of The Oaks' uniform policy each week. This week we'll look at what the policy says in regards to hair.
"Students should demonstrate neat, traditional, conservatively oriented choices in their hairstyle and accessories...Our ladies and gentlemen will keep their hair & nails clean and well groomed. Gentlemen will keep their hair groomed in a traditional style, short in length with the back length no longer than the top of the shirt collar, the sides not below the earlobe, and the front not in their eyes. Gentlemen's hair is not to bleached, dyed, highlighted, nor cut or worn in an ornamental manner (i.e. faux hawks, mohawks, clipper designs, etc.) It should not be cut or styled in a way that draws undue attention to self. Facial hair for gentlemen is not acceptable...
Ladies will keep their hair groomed in a traditional style, out of their face, and may have highlights or extensions only in natural hair colors..."
The full guidelines may be found under Personal Grooming.

PERKS Program
Parents Engaging in Random Acts of Service and Kindness for our Staff
Since 1997, just one year after The Oaks was founded, the PERKS program has been a way for parents to come together and tangibly bless our teachers, faculty, and support staff. This parent-led program shows appreciation throughout the year with prayers, notes, treats, and gifts that remind our staff how valued they are.
Each year, 1 or 2 parents per grammar class (Jr K–6th) sign up to coordinate the PERKS for their child's teacher, which may include traditions such as coordinating Christmas and end-of-year gifts, as well as new ways that would bless the teacher. If this is something you'd like to participate in please use the PERKS Grammar Sign-up or contact Sophie Donoghue, Oaks parent & Grammar School PERKS coordinator.
This year, in addition to class PERKS Parents (thank you for those who have already signed up), the PERKS team is also inviting families to participate in "Adopt the Staff" snack days. Twice a month, parents may sign up to provide snacks (about 4 dozen) on a designate Thursday, blessing the entire Oaks staff with a little extra joy in their day. If you'd like to participate, please use the PERKS Snacks Sign-up to reserve a spot or reach out directly to Mrs. Marissa Raybould, Oaks parent & PERKS coordinator, with questions.
PERKS is a simple but meaningful way to serve, get to know other families, and bring smiles to those who pour into your children daily. Thank you for being a part of this wonderful program!
Oaks Neighbor Looking to Sell House
A school neighbor has shared that he will be selling his house (just across the street from The Oaks) and would love to sell directly to an Oaks family. The asking price is around $500,000. If interested, a flyer is available in the school office.

September Scripture Memorization
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
