Families are encouraged to memorize each month's selection, participate in the daily Bible reading, and use it in your homes as we read and grow in God's word as a school family. Parking Lot Etiquette and Map

1st Day of School – Mon., Sept.19 [8:30am]
*no Cantabile nor formal uniforms

The Oaks 2022-23 school year officially begins Monday, September 19 at 8:30am. Cantabile will not be held on the 1st day and formal uniforms are not required. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year and can hardly wait to see a campus filled with school families once again!

Friday Pizza Lunch – Beginning Fri., Sept. 23
* All September orders must be placed by 3pm Wed., Sept. 21.
* Please pay w/cash or check in the office or combine w/another payment if paying via Jupiter.

Friday pizza lunch is back the 1st week of school. Friday pizza hot lunch orders are placed monthly and, with the exception of September, the forms will be posted 2 weeks prior to the deadline. We ask that you please make your payment with cash or check in the school office for this item. If you would like to pay via credit card on Jupiter, please do so by combining the payment with other fees you are paying. The margins on pizza hot lunch are very small and we would like to keep the price as low as possible for you. The fees associated with credit card payments make this difficult, so by taking these steps in your payment you can help us to keep the cost of pizza hot lunch low. Thank you!

To place your order:

  • Go to Forms in your Jupiter parent portal and click on Pizza Lunch Order.
  • Select the number of slices you would like to order and/or sides.
  • Hit Submit.
  • Repeat the process for each child individually.
  • The fee will be added to your Jupiter invoice the first Thursday of the month.
  • You may pay with cash or check in the school office. If you would like to pay via credit card on Jupiter, please combine with other fees.
  • Hot lunch helpers will check off orders as students pick up their lunch each Friday.

Additional Notes:

  • All orders must be submitted by 3pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month. The forms will be locked after this time. We will notify you, on this news page, when new forms for the upcoming month are posted.
  • Fees are non-refundable & non-transferable once the due date has passed.

Those who are interested in helping with this endeavor please reach out to Kelly Coe (contact info. is available on the Family Directory).

Uniform Information

  • The 2022-23 Uniform Pictorial Guide is now available on the uniform page.
  • Lands' End:The three-year uniform transition is complete. All primary uniform items come solely through Lands' End with the exception of the following: the formal navy sweater vest & the optional navy button-front cardigan from Dennis/Uniform House, as well as the formal bowtie (opt. for 7–12th gentlemen) available in the school office. We desire to ensure that our families are being served well. We also maintain a great working relationship with Lands' End. So, if you have questions or need help with anything, please contact the school office to let us know. Please note: School uniform items with or without a logo may be exchanged within 90 days of purchase. Use the Easy Return Label found on your packing slip to receive free return shipping.
  • Opportunities for Embroidery: Going forward into the new school year, a new system will be in place for embroidering new navy sweater vests & cardigans with the school logo. These two items will continue to be purchased by families plain (from Spokane Uniform House or the Dennis website) and then embroidered through the school office. However, instead of specific drop-off deadlines, they may now be brought into the office at any time to be exchanged on-the-spot for the same item with the logo already on it. The embroidery cost is $5.95 (tax included) per item. We hope this process modification will be a blessing to everyone!
Uniform items which still need to be embroidered with the school logo may be brought into the school office no later than noon, Friday, September 16. As soon as items are available for pick-up, you will be notified via Jupiter message and the cost of $5.95 (tax included) per item will be added to your Jupiter account.
  • Restructured Uniform Closet: Along with the completion of the uniform transition, the Uniform Closet is getting an overhaul in order to serve families better! This includes stocking items such as belts, ties, socks & tights, etc. which are often immediate needs on formal uniform days. A donation of $5 per item procured, payable to the school office, is suggested in order to help cover costs associated with the maintenance & upkeep of this shared space.
  • Formal Fridays: For the 2022-23 school year Fridays will be our weekly formal uniform day. Grammar school P.E. classes will take place Monday through Thursday during the school year, making Fridays a perfect day for formal clothing.

MONTHLY SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

- Psalm 1

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play - Dessert Theatre - Dec. 2–3, 2022

The Oaks Theatre is excited to announce the fall production of It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play - Dessert Theatre - December 2–3, 2022. Based on the classic holiday movie the story is staged as a live 1940's radio broadcast. Actors portray numerous characters, and the actors produce the sound effects with Foley props. It's a Wonderful Life is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast & tired to continue living. It will take help from a lovable "angel" to show George what life would be like if he had never been born, and to help him gain a change of heart and understand the true spirit of Christmas. Auditions are open to grades 7–12. Those interested in auditioning may come by the theatre board (in the MP foyer) to sign up and print an audition packet.
