A Thought To Savor

"We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words – to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it."

– C.S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory

Street Parking Reminder

As we seek to bless our neighbors, please be mindful to only park on the north side of 24th Avenue (the school building side) as opposed to parking on the south side, in front of our neighbors' homes. This is a small, but tangible way for us to be kind and charitable toward the broader community. Thank you!

Ceremony & Event Etiquette Reminders

The final weeks of school are filled with many joyous and celebratory events. As a courtesy to all, below are a few reminders as we seek to honor and celebrate our students in their various endeavors.

  • Attire for the all school events is as follows:
    • Awards Ceremony & Senior Assembly – business casual (students wear formal uniform)
    • Graduation – semi-formal (9–11th grade students wear formal uniform)
  • Silence cell phones and electronic devices.
  • Remain seated and quiet while the ceremony is in progress. If needed, please exit and re-enter quietly between speeches, etc.
  • Plan to stay for entire event.
  • Plan ahead, restroom breaks should occur before and after events.
  • Children should be under parent supervision at all times during the ceremonies, events, and receptions.

Thank you for helping to elevate these events for the good of the students and the honoring of the brethren.

End-of-Year Event Help Needed

The end of the 2023-24 school year is quickly approaching and there are many events taking place the last few weeks of school. As such, Mrs. Beth Schultz, The Oaks' Events Coordinator, is seeking volunteers to help in various ways. If you are willing and available, please sign up. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him, and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
