A Thought To Savor

"True repentance is the result of an accurate understanding of the significance and gravity of sin, coupled with an overwhelming desire for the remission of that sin through the person and work of Christ and turning from sin and dead works to faith and obedience."

– Voddie Baucham

A donation box will be available, as you see fit.

Uniform Highlights: Outerwear

This school year we'd like to highlight different parts of The Oaks' uniform policy each week. This week we'll look at what the policy says in regards to outerwear.

"When in classrooms and school buildings, Grammar students (JrK–6th grades) may only wear Oaks uniform items embroidered with the school logo. Grammar students may wear other jackets & coats when necessary for outdoor activities like recess. Logic & Rhetoric students (7–12th grades) may only wear Oaks uniform items that are embroidered with the school logo at any time during the school day (between 8:00am and 3:30pm)"

These guidelines may be found under General Guidelines.

2025-26 Uniform Policy

Gum Free Campus

Please remember that The Oaks is a "no gum" campus, neither before, during, nor after the school day. Thank you for kindly avoiding chewing gum while at The Oaks.

Guests on Campus

When visiting or volunteering, all parents, grandparents, and guests, are asked to please sign in at the front office whenever on campus. This is a helpful way to keep The Oaks safe for all, and the office ladies love welcoming visitors. Classroom volunteers should also have an up-to-date background check on file (good for two years). This form can be found on the parent portal of your Annasis account.

The Oaks Philharmonic Orchestra

This fall, The Oaks Conservatory is debuting a brand new flagship instrumental ensemble: The Oaks Philharmonic Orchestra. Esteemed cellist and conductor, Yevgeniy Grechko, will be leading this group, with a complete lineup of teaching specialists from the Conservatory. Auditions for The Oaks Philharmonic (TOP) will be open to the broader Oaks Conservatory community, and is an opportunity Oaks students will not want to miss and only need a recommendation from their music teacher or private instructor to join! Seventh grade students through adult, with instrumental experience, are welcome to participate. Sign-up on Annasis today! Join us this year to shine the light of God's truth through music!

Grammar School

Please refer to your child's Weekly Letter for class specific information.

Absentee Reminders

When your child is home sick, please notify his teacher and the school office prior to 10am. Grammar teachers will gather school work throughout the day and have it available in the classroom after school to be picked up by a parent or sibling. It's extremely helpful for students to keep up on their school work as much as they are able while home sick and the teachers are eager to help keep your child on track while missing a day or two.

Recess: Rain or Shine

Rain or shine students go out for recess! Flood or blizzard brewing, they may consider staying inside. All joking aside, please note that your child will go outside for recess whenever possible and a little rain won't ruin their fresh air fun!

Upcoming Class Events:

Tues., Oct. 14

  • Kindergarten Green Bluff Field Trip [8:45am–12pm] Parent RSVP

Thurs., Nov. 20

  • 2nd Grade Boxcar Day

Logic & Rhetoric Schools

Absentee School Work

If your child is home sick, please call the school office prior to 10am. For Logic & Rhetoric students, the secretaries will send a request for school work to each of your child's teachers. The teachers will then send you and your child any work they missed that day through Annasis. It is helpful for your child to stay caught up on school work to the best of their ability while home sick, as it will ease the transition when they are healthy and back at school. The office and the teachers are eager to help you make it a little easier.

Hallways at Lunch

Students, please remember that lunches are to be eaten either in a classroom or outside rather than the hallways or on carpeted areas in the main building. Keeping food to the designated areas is a simple way to keep our facilities nice for everyone. Thank you!

Oaks Hoodies Begin Mon., Oct. 13

Beginning Monday, October 13, secondary students (7–12th grade) may wear their Oaks hoodies during the school day as a part of their everyday uniforms. Students also have the option to wear the Lands' End crewneck sweatshirts and quarter zip pullovers, which are a part of the everyday uniform policy. All sweatshirts should be worn with a collared uniform shirt underneath.

AP Exam Registration
Due by Fri., Oct. 31

High school students have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement exam this May at The Oaks. For some colleges, students can receive college credit for passing an AP exam, scoring a "3" and above (on a 1–5 scale). This will enable a student to waive the equivalent college course during freshman year (Freshman English Composition, for example). So, for those participating colleges, passing an AP exam will save money (and time) in the long run. Each university handles the AP credit differently; you will want to check out a specific college to understand how they treat AP exam scores.

Register through Annasis by Friday, October 31. Please read the AP Exam Information for further details and contact Mrs. Lynn Gibson with any questions.

October Scripture Memorization

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!"

And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

So I said:

"Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts."

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said:

"Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged."

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

"Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?"

Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
