As we welcome visiting teams and fans, let's show our signature hospitality by creating a warm and respectful environment. This is a unique opportunity for students to model kindness and courtesy. Tournament days do come with some extra guidelines and your help with the following is appreciated.

  • Student Supervision: Grammar students (6th grade and under) should remain with their parents at all times. To ensure safety, and respect for the event, please avoid letting younger children play in the field or parking lot, or sit unaccompanied in the gym.
  • Cleanliness: Please help to keep the bleachers and gym tidy. Check that no trash is left behind or fallen under the bleachers, carefully retrieving any items that slipped through.
  • Tournament-Only Areas: Locker rooms, hallways, and classrooms are reserved for players and officials only during the tournament. Students and non-players are asked to kindly avoid these spaces.

Thank you for your support in making this tournament a memorable experience for everyone. Let's show up to cheer on our Oaks teams with energy and school spirit!

Check-in & out in the School Office

Have an appointment? Need to pick your child up early? Please check your child out in the office first. Once you've checked your child out, you may pick him up from the classroom or ask the office to call the classroom. If you send a note with your child in the morning, his teacher will send him to the office to meet you at the appropriate time. Likewise, please stop by the office to check your child in when returning to campus after an appointment, or anytime your child is arriving after 8:30am. Making sure that all students are checked in and out through the office by parents is a protection for your child and their classmates.

Northwest ACCS Choral Festival - Fri., Nov. 8
*9–12th grade participating 8:30am through conclusion of 6:30pm concert

The Northwest ACCS Choral Festival is right around the corner on Friday, November 8th! Oaks 9–12th grade students will have the privilege of hosting students from other regional ACCS schools for this day of fellowship and music making which will begin at 8:30am and culminate in a concert at 6:30 in the evening. Both lunch and dinner will be provided for the day and shared with all attending schools. Not only will students participate in the mass choir, but they will also have the honor of presenting a piece as an individual choir for the evening's concert. This event is a beautiful opportunity for our students to practice hospitality and grow in their love for God's people and His worship through song. We anticipate that all 9–12th grade students will enjoy hosting the entire day! In fact, The Oaks considers this a mandatory event. Please reach out to Mrs. Amy Kim if you have questions.

*Student Details

Here are a few details to help your child navigate the day:

  • School Day: Oaks 9–12th grade students should plan for a regular school-day arrival and to stay until the completion of the concert which begins at 6:30pm.
  • Meals: Oaks students will be sharing a provided lunch and dinner with the other festival participants as a time of great fellowship. Students who have dietary restrictions are welcome to bring their own food and they may also request dairy- and/or gluten-free accommodations by communicating their need to Mrs. Kim by Monday, November 4.
  • Uniforms: During the day, students may wear their everyday uniforms, but have their formal uniforms ready to change into before the evening concert. Rooms will be assigned for students to change in, as well as to stow extra belongings.
  • Personal Items: With so many people on campus, please limit personal belongings as much as possible–for this day, clearly labeled disposable water bottles will be best.

We are looking forward to celebrating God's goodness to us through the gift of worship in song!

AP Exam Registration - Due by Nov. 10

High school students have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement exam this May at The Oaks. For some colleges, students can receive college credit for passing an AP exam, scoring a "3" and above (on a 1–5 scale). This will enable a student to waive the equivalent college course during freshman year (Freshman English Composition, for example). So, for those participating colleges, passing an AP exam will save money (and time) in the long run. Each university handles AP credit differently; you will want to check out a specific college to understand how they treat AP exam scores. To register, log into your Jupiter parent portal, go to Forms and select AP Exam Registration. Once your registration is processed, the exam fee will be applied to your Jupiter account and may be paid by cash or check in the school office or via credit card through Jupiter. Registration is due by Sunday, November 10, with payment due by December 1. Please read the AP Exam Information for further details and contact Mrs. Lynn Gibson with any questions.

College Brown Bag Lunches

High school students, 9–12th grades, are welcome to participate in the annual College Brown Bag Lunch Series. Come with questions and converse with admission officers from colleges and universities around the country. These lunches will be held in MP 4 from 12:35 to 1:05pm. The College Brown Bag Lunch Flyer shows the complete schedule. Questions? Email Mrs. Lynn Gibson.

November Scripture Memorization

Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
