A Thought To Savor

"Read the Bible, and read it again. Do not despair of help to understand something of the will and mind of God as revealed in the Scriptures. Though you think they are fast shut up from you, do not give up. Keep knocking. Keep reading."

Friday pizza lunch is an opportunity many families enjoy every year! It's a chance for parents to take a break from packing lunches and for kids to enjoy a special treat with friends. We are excited to announce that Friday, November 7 will be the 1st pizza lunch of the 2025-26 school year. Friday pizza hot lunch orders may be placed monthly through Events on Annasis with orders being due by the last day of the month for the following month. November and December orders are now available. A reminder will go out in the school news each month as the due date approaches. For those who would like to order for a week or two out of any given month, you may do so through the weekly pizza lunch order. Please note that the monthly option is designed to be a quicker easier check out, so if you are ordering for the entire month, monthly is the way to go. Weekly orders will close the last day of the month prior as well. Pizza and side choices will be made day of. Pizza options include cheese, pepperoni, and Hawaiian, while sides include chips, cheese, Gogurt, and applesauce.

Volleyball Tournament Details
Soccer Tournament Details

As we welcome visiting teams and fans, let's show our signature hospitality by creating a warm and respectful environment. This is a unique opportunity for students to model kindness and courtesy. Tournament days do come with some extra guidelines and your help with the following is appreciated.

  • Student Supervision: Grammar students (6th grade and under) should remain with their parents at all times. To ensure safety, and respect for the event, please avoid letting younger children play in the field or parking lot, or sit unaccompanied in the gym.
  • Cleanliness: Please help to keep the bleachers and gym tidy. Check that no trash is left behind or fallen under the bleachers, carefully retrieving any items that slipped through.
  • Tournament-Only Areas: Locker rooms, hallways, and classrooms are reserved for players and officials only during the tournament. Students and non-players are asked to kindly avoid these spaces.

Thank you for your support in making this tournament a memorable experience for everyone. Let's show up to cheer on our Oaks teams with energy and school spirit!

Volunteer to Help

The Ambassador Leadership Team is helping to pull off a fun tournament this year and would appreciate any additional help you could provide. If you would like to volunteer and have the opportunity to serve alongside the Ambassadors, please sign up on the Tournament Volunteers Sign-up Sheet. It's a fun way to get involved!

AP Exam Registration
*Due by Fri., Oct. 31

High school students have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement exam this May at The Oaks. For some colleges, students can receive college credit for passing an AP exam, scoring a "3" and above (on a 1–5 scale). This will enable a student to waive the equivalent college course during freshman year (Freshman English Composition, for example). So, for those participating colleges, passing an AP exam will save money (and time) in the long run. Each university handles the AP credit differently; you will want to check out a specific college to understand how they treat AP exam scores.

Register through Annasis by Friday, October 31. Please read the AP Exam Information for further details and contact Mrs. Lynn Gibson with any questions.

October Scripture Memorization

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said:

"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!"

And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke.

So I said:

"Woe is me, for I am undone!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King,
The Lord of hosts."

Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said:

"Behold, this has touched your lips;
Your iniquity is taken away,
And your sin purged."

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:

"Whom shall I send,
And who will go for Us?"

Then I said, "Here am I! Send me."
