THERE'S AN APP FOR THAT! Introducing The Oaks App
The Oaks exists to partner with parents to raise classically educated young men and women who glorify Christ, shape culture, and shine the light of God's truth on all of life's endeavors. One way that The Oaks seeks to support this effort is by providing parents with resources that strengthen their understanding of classical Christian education and the importance of it in our world today. Therefore, we are excited to introduce The Oaks App! Designed to bless and edify parents as they live out their God-given calling, the app provides video podcasts, audio & video versions of Monday Meals, push notifications for community events, and information on extracurricular programs. Additionally, the app offers a Bible, with several translations and an audio version.
To download The Oaks App:
1. Go to your app store
2. Search "OaksCCA"
3. Click "Get" (It's Free!)
4. Enjoy the resources and encouragement!

Grammar School
Student–Parent Handbook Agreement - Due Fri., Oct. 22
Please read the 2021-22 Student–Parent Handbook and complete the Student–Parent Handbook Agreement (available in Jupiter, under Forms) by Friday, October 22. Printed copies of the handbook are available in the school office if you would prefer.
Absentee Reminders
When your child is home sick, please notify his teacher and the school office prior to 10am. Grammar teachers will gather school work throughout the day and have it available in the classroom after school to be picked up by a parent or sibling. It's extremely helpful for students to keep up on their school work as much as they are able while home sick and the teachers are eager to help keep your child on track while missing a day or two.

Student–Parent Handbook Agreement Reminder!
If you have not already done so, please read the 2021-22 Student–Parent Handbook and complete the Student–Parent Handbook Agreement (available in Jupiter, under Forms). The office will start calling families who have not completed this next week. Printed copies of the handbook are available in the school office if you would prefer.
Dance Instruction - Thurs., Oct. 28
The Logic & Rhetoric School will be following an activity schedule (see schedules) on Thursday, October 28th, allowing them the opportunity to participate in some dance instruction at the end of the day, led by Mrs. Heidy Cartwright. Several dance instruction days are scheduled throughout the 1st semester in preparation for the Winter Dance (9–12th grades), which is scheduled for Saturday, January 15. Any parents who would like to participate in the instruction (and the dance) are encouraged to join in the fun!
AP Exams - Registration open; deadline is Fri., Nov. 12
High school students have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement exam this May at The Oaks. For some colleges, students can receive college credit for passing an AP exam, scoring a "3" and above (on a 1-5 scale). This will enable a student to waive the equivalent college course during freshman year (Freshman English Composition, for example). So, for those participating colleges, passing an AP exam will save money (and time) in the long run. Each university handles AP credit differently; you will want to check out a specific college to understand how they treat AP exam scores.
To register, log into your Jupiter parent portal, go to Forms and select AP Exam Registration. Once your registration is processed the exam fee will be applied to your Jupiter account and may be paid by cash or check in the school office or via credit card through Jupiter. Registration and payment are due by Friday, November 12. Please read the letter below for further information and contact Mrs. Lynn Gibson with any questions.

Absentee School Work
If your child is home sick please call the school office prior to 10am to let them know. For Logic & Rhetoric students, the secretaries will send a request for school work to each of your child's teachers. The teachers will then send you and your child any work they missed that day. It is helpful for your child to stay caught up on school work to the best of their ability while home sick, as it will ease the transition when they are healthy and back at school. The office and the teachers are eager to help you make it a little easier.
