Check-in & Check-out in the School Office
Have an appointment? Need to pick your child up early? Please check your child out in the office first. Once you've checked your child out you may pick him up from the classroom or ask the office to call the classroom. If you send a note with your child in the morning his teacher will send him to the office to meet you at the appropriate time. Likewise, please stop by the office to check your child in when returning to campus after an appointment, or anytime your child is arriving after 8:30am. Making sure that all students are checked in and out through the office by parents is a protection for your child and their classmates.
Excused (Planned) Absence Forms on Jupiter
If your child will be missing school due to a planned absence please print and complete the Excused Absence Form available under Forms in Jupiter. This form should be turned into the school office at least 3 days prior to the absence. Please note, your child is still responsible for collecting homework ahead of time and completing it during his absence. Please contact the school office if you have any questions.
2023-24 Yearbook Photos Wanted!
*Upload any photos from the year so far.
Calling all photographers! The yearbook committee is seeking photos for The Oaks' 2023-24 yearbook. There are several ways to submit your photos:
- Email – send your pictures directly to the yearbook photo album at 23-24-yearbook@yogile.com
- Upload – in your Jupiter parent portal go to Materials, select School Office, and click the link for Yearbook Photos. This will take you to a direct link where you can upload your photos. *You can also bookmark the album to upload anytime throughout the year.
- Flash Drive – bring your pictures into the school office on a flash drive & we'll upload them for you.
Lots of photos are needed to make an outstanding yearbook, so your help in acquiring a large selection is greatly appreciated!
Weekly Prayer
*Ladies' – Mondays [8:30–9:00am]
*Men – Wednesdays [8:00–8:30am]
All Oaks parents and grandparents are invited to join in a time of weekly prayer for our school community. Ladies will meet on Mondays, following Cantabile, in the upstairs conference room from 8:30–9:00am. Children are welcome. Men will meet on Wednesdays in Mr. Charlie Dowers' office from 8:00–8:30am. We hope you will join as you're able to lift up our school in prayer.
Volunteer Opportunities
What a privilege it is to be part of a community that is always willing to lend a hand. Throughout the school year there are many opportunities to serve that are on an as-needed basis (rather than a weekly or monthly commitment). The 2023-24 volunteer sign-up is now available for you to sign up to substitute teach, help in a classroom, take yearbook photos, offer your professional expertise, and much more! Knowing who is available to ask in a time of need is a great service to our community, so please take a moment to look over this list and see if there's an area or two where you would be willing to lend a hand. Thank you!
Jupiter Tip: Opt in to receive text messages
If you haven't already done so, please be sure to opt in to receive text messages from Jupiter. This ensures that you will receive a short text when the school news is published each week as well as last minute schedule changes, such as snow days. To opt in, log into your parent or student Jupiter account and go to "Settings." Under "Notifications" check the "Text Msg" box for the areas you would like to receive text messages. It is recommended that you select text messaging for "Emergency alerts" and "Messages" at a minimum. Feel free to contact the school office if you have questions or need assistance.

Grammar School
Please refer to your child's Weekly Letter for class specific information.
Absentee Reminders
When your child is home sick, please notify his teacher and the school office prior to 10am. Grammar teachers will gather school work throughout the day and have it available in the classroom after school to be picked up by a parent or sibling. It's extremely helpful for students to keep up on their school work as much as they are able while home sick and the teachers are eager to help keep your child on track while missing a day or two.
Backpacks in Hallways
We are excited to now have hallway hooks available for grammar students in the west wing. Students have assigned hooks and have been asked to hang their coats on the small hook and their backpack, zippered with all belongings inside, on the larger hook. The east wing and kindergarten will be getting hooks installed very soon! Thank you Mr. Guisinger for getting these hooks installed.
Junior Kindergarten:
*Schedule Change-Oct.25–27
The junior kindergarten class will meet Wednesday through Friday, October 25 through 27 (rather than Tuesday through Thursday). This will allow the class to participate in Grandparents' Day on Friday, October 27.
Logic & Rhetoric Schools
Absentee School Work
If your child is home sick please call the school office prior to 10am to let them know. For Logic & Rhetoric students, the secretaries will send a request for school work to each of your child's teachers. The teachers will then send you and your child any work they missed that day. It is helpful for your child to stay caught up on school work to the best of their ability while home sick, as it will ease the transition when they are healthy and back at school. The office and the teachers are eager to help you make it a little easier.
Off-Campus Event Application Form On Jupiter
If your logic or rhetoric school child is planning to participate in a non-Oaks extracurricular activity that requires him to miss any amount of school, please print and complete the Off-Campus Event Application Form available in Forms on Jupiter. This would include driver's education, sports programs, private lessons, work, etc. Please contact the office if you have questions.

*9–12th grade students participating all day and through the evening's concert
The Northwest ACCS Choral Festival is right around the corner on Friday, November 10th! Oaks 9–12th grade students will have the privilege of hosting students from other regional ACCS schools for this day of fellowship and music making which will begin at 8:30am and culminate in a concert at 6:30 in the evening. Both lunch and dinner will be provided for the day and shared with all attending schools. Not only will students participate in the mass choir, but they will also have the honor of presenting a piece as an individual choir for the evening's concert. This event is a beautiful opportunity for our students to practice hospitality and grow in their love for God's people and His worship through song. We anticipate that all 9–12th grade students will enjoy hosting the entire day! In fact, The Oaks considers this a mandatory event. Please reach out to Mrs. Amy Kim if you have questions.

Why do the nations rage, And the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, And the rulers take counsel together, Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
"Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us."
He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, And distress them in His deep displeasure:
"Yet I have set My King On My holy hill of Zion."
"I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.
Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter's vessel.'"
Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son lest He be angry, And you perish in the way, When His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.
