It's a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play

By Joe Landry

It's A Wonderful Life 2

It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is based on the classic Christmas movie (directed by Frank Capra) with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live 1940s radio broadcast and Dessert Theatre to boot! A handful of actors portray all the familiar characters, and sound effects are done live through Foley artists. It’s a Wonderful Life is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast and discouraged to go on living. It will take help of a lovable “guardian angel” - Clarence, to show George what life in Bedford Falls would be like if he had never been born. The story unfolds as George witnesses the astounding impact one person can have on so many lives, transforming him into one who experiences the true spirit of Christmas.
