A Thought To Savor

"Not that the heart can be good without knowledge, for without knowledge the heart is empty. But there are two kinds of knowledge: the first is alone in its bare speculation of things, and the second is accompanied by the grace of faith and love, which causes a man to do the will of God from the heart."
– John Bunyan, The Pilgrim's Progress

Uniforms: Love in the Little Things

As Picture Day and the Christmas Concert approach it is helpful to take special notice of your child's uniforms. With eight weeks of school under our belt here are a few reminders: Gentlemen should be wearing belts, Grammar School ladies (Jr K–5th) are now wearing white knee high socks or tights with their formal uniform while Secondary ladies (6–12th) are wearing black/dark navy knee high socks or tights with their formal uniform, all should wear dark soled formal shoes, and Gentlemen should wear dress socks (not athletic socks) with their formal uniform. If you haven't done so lately, please take a moment to review the uniform policy. Taking a moment to check these little things is a great way to love our community!

The supportive presence of family and friends at the concert is greatly appreciated.

We are looking forward to celebrating God's goodness to us through the gift of worship in song!

AP Exams - Registration Due by Wed., Nov. 15

High school students have the opportunity to take the Advanced Placement exam this May at The Oaks. For some colleges, students can receive college credit for passing an AP exam, scoring a "3" and above (on a 1-5 scale). This will enable a student to waive the equivalent college course during freshman year (Freshman English Composition, for example). So, for those participating colleges, passing an AP exam will save money (and time) in the long run. Each university handles AP credit differently; you will want to check out a specific college to understand how they treat AP exam scores.

To register, log into your Jupiter parent portal, go to Forms and select AP Exam Registration. Once your registration is processed the exam fee will be applied to your Jupiter account and may be paid by cash or check in the school office or via credit card through Jupiter. Registration is due by Wednesday, November 15 with payment due by Friday, December 1. Please read the information below for further details and contact Mrs. Lynn Gibson with any questions.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statues, And I shall keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.
Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgements are good.
Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
