A Thought To Savor

"I want to know one thing–the way to heaven. God Himself has condescended to teach the way. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give the book of God!"

– John Wesley

2025-26 Scripture Memorization

A Note From Mr. Trotter

Dear Oaks Parents,

Grace and peace to you in Christ.

I want to offer a friendly but important reminder about the use of social media and group chats within our school community. Recently, we've learned that some of our students have been a part of online conversations that do not reflect the love, encouragement, and unity we aim to foster here at The Oaks. In several cases, these conversations have crossed into what Scripture calls gossip (see Proverbs 26:20; 17:9; 16:28).

As parents and partners in this shared mission, we have the joyful responsibility to model and teach our children what Christlike speech looks like; speech that gives grace to those who hear, builds up instead of tears down, and honors our kind and gracious Father. Let's remind our children what we say online is no less important than what we say in person.

Our mission statement at The Oaks ends with these simple and beautiful words: "...who glorify Christ, shape culture, and shine the light of God's truth in every endeavor of life." Every word we write or speak should serve that purpose.

In a world quick to speak and slow to listen, we Christians need wisdom and restraint. Thank you for helping our Oaks family remain one marked by grace, kindness, and the unity that flows from the gospel.

With gratitude and blessing,

Kenneth V. Trotter
Grammar, Logic & Rhetoric School Dean

Musical Theater Dance Class - Mondays & Tuesdays [4:30–5:25pm] *Began Nov. 3 (1st Semester Only)

Calling all musical theater enthusiasts and hopefuls: The Oaks Theater has revealed that they will be bringing Mary Poppins to the stage spring 2026. Therefore, now is the time to prepare for auditions and gain skill and confidence. The artistic team will be looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and skilled dancers for numbers like Step-in-Time, Jolly Holiday, and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. To help, the Musical Theater class has joined hands with the dance instructors to provide the best dance offering. This class meets two days a week on Mondays and Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:25pm through the first semester only. Monday afternoons consist of Theater Dance choreography, taught by Mrs. LaVoie, and Tap Dance, taught by Mrs. Geiger. Tuesday afternoons Foundational Ballet will be taught by Mrs. St. Onge. Take advantage of this opportunity to meet all three dance instructors of The Oaks Conservatory Dance Program and get ready for the musical this spring. The class is open to the community, so feel free to invite your friends.

November Scripture Memorization

The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel:
To know wisdom and instruction,
To perceive the words of understanding,
To receive the instruction of wisdom,
Justice, judgment, and equity;
To give prudence to the simple,
To the young man knowledge and discretion–
A wise man will hear and increase learning,
And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,
To understand a proverb and an enigma,
The words of the wise and their riddles.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
