A Thought To Savor

"If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this."

– C.S. Lewis

Cast & Crew Schedule Changes During Show Week

What a blessing it is to be able to use the beautiful Myrtle Woldson Theater at Gonzaga again for this year's Spring Musical, Mary Poppins. Free Books Available

As the librarians cull through books for The Oaks' library shelves, there are some books that do not meet the library standards for one reason or another. These books are placed on the bookshelves in the small hallway leading to the admin offices, off of the east wing, across from the main floor restrooms. Please feel free to take what you'd like to add to your home library.

Tissues Needed

How many sneezes and coughs and ker-chews?
How many nose wipes?
And tear drops?
A few.
How many damp wads
Get thrown in the basket?
The trash can, the waste pile?
The used-tissue casket?
How many wipes on your poor, drippy snout?
How many pulls till the box just runs out?
Who says it matters?
You run out, and then...
You go to the store for a new box again.

"Tissue Box" by Denise Rodgers

Between winter colds and spring allergies, the school tissue supply has dwindled remarkably. If you are able to provide a box or two to help replenish these supplies for the remainder of the year, staff and students alike would be grateful. Please drop off any donations to the school office at your convenience. Thank you!

Protocol Event: Spring Dance - Sat., May 30 [5–9pm]
Parent Registration Due by Fri., May 22

The Oaks is excited to host this year's Logic & Rhetoric School Spring Dance, exemplifying truth, goodness, and beauty. All 7–12th grade students should plan to attend. There is no charge for students, as the yearly enrollment fee covers the cost for your child. Parents and grandparents are also welcome to attend, at a cost of $15 per person. The Spring Dance Registration is now available in Annasis. Please be sure to register no later than Friday, May 22 so that we can plan accordingly. Please contact Mrs. Beth Schultz, Events Coordinator with any questions.

  • Ladies, your dress is to be tea-length (below the knee & above the ankles); with cap sleeves, wide straps, or sleeves; and dress shoes. Please be mindful that the rigorous nature of the dances naturally necessitates longer skirt lengths, higher neck lines, and the avoidance of clingy or form-fitting pieces; modesty enhances beauty.

May Scripture Memory

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.
