Senior Thesis Presentations - May 24–28
The seniors are presenting and defending their theses the week of May 24th. All are welcome to attend. Please see the attached schedule for a complete listing of times and topics.
2021 Senior Thesis Presentations
Lands' End Uniform Sale - May 26–June 1
Lands' End is running a promotion of 30% off school uniforms. Use the code "HOLIDAY" with pin "1865" between May 26 and June 1 to take advantage of this sale. Please visit the Lands' End website for more information and be sure to use the school code (900069105). Mrs. Laurie Gardner, in the school office, will be handling uniform questions, so please feel free contact her if you need any assistance.
No School Memorial Day - Mon., May 31
There will be no school on Memorial Day, Monday, May 31.
Cantabile - Tues., June 1 at 8:15am
School will begin with Cantabile at 8:15am on Tuesday, June 1 after the Memorial Day weekend.
Rooted T-Shirt Day - Wed., June 2
On Wednesday, June 2, all students are encouraged to wear their Oaks Rooted t-shirts (black, white, or gray) to school. Students may wear the Rooted t-shirt in place of the uniform polo or blouse, but should wear the regular school uniform otherwise.
2020-21 Yearbook Orders - Due by Wed., June 2
It's time to order the 2020-21 Yearbook! The order form is now available through your Jupiter parent portal within the 2020-21 school year. Go to "Forms" and select the "2020-21 Yearbook Order Form." Once you have placed your order you may pay in the school office or through Jupiter. Remember, if paying through Jupiter you must be in the 2020-21 school year. Orders are due by Wednesday, June 2.
Lost & Found - Thurs., June 3
Lost & found items will be set out in the MP foyer on Thursday. Please stop by to see if anything belongs to your family. All unclaimed items, except uniforms, will be donated at the end of the day. Thank you to all who come by the office to find missing belongings prior to them being placed out. We appreciate your help in keeping our lost & found pile low.
Family Zoom Meeting - Thurs., June 3 at 7pm
Plan to join The Oaks' Head of School, Charlie Dowers, for a family zoom meeting Thursday, June 3 at 7pm as he shares information with the school body about the conclusion of this school year and changes for next year. The zoom link and an agenda will be sent to school families via Jupiter at the beginning of the week.
Coming School Year Packets - Forms Due by Fri., June 4
Packets for the upcoming school year were sent home with your eldest child. Please be sure to read through all the materials carefully and respond accordingly. All forms are due by Friday, June 4.
*Please note: When filling out forms in Jupiter for the upcoming school year you will need to be in the 2021-22 school year.

Conservatory Recital - Tues., June 8 at 3:30pm
The Oaks Conservatory students will be celebrating the completion of the year with a recital on Tuesday, June 8 at 3:30pm in the gym. Please join us for a grand performance!
Senior Assembly - Thurs., June 10 at 10am
All are welcome to attend The Oaks' Senior Assembly on Thursday, June 10th at 10am as the Class of 2021 encourages the student body at this annual event.
Lands' End Try-Before-You-Buy Event - June 14–18
The last week of school, Lands' End, will be providing uniform samples for families to try on and find the best sizing. Stop by the gym anytime to see what is available.
The Oaks 25th Anniversary Celebration!

The Oaks is celebrating 25 years as a school, and the festivities have begun!
Daily Trivia Contest - Every day leading up to the last day of school and the grand celebration, Oaks trivia questions are being posted on the game board located in the MP foyer. Students may submit one entry per day (sorry parents!) for the chance to win a prize. The day's winner is announced to the classes and prizes delivered by Mr. Dowers himself! Many students are partaking in the fun and a few have won! Ask your kids about today's trivia questions.
The Oaks 25th Anniversary Grand Celebration - Plan to join us on Friday, June 18 for the Grand Celebration, as we conclude our 25th year as a school! The celebration begins at 11:30am on the field. Lunch will be provided, with a program and activities to follow. Please RSVP to the school office by Friday, June 11. All are welcome to join in the festivities!
Used Uniform Sale - Fri., June 18 from 10am-12pm
The annual used uniform sale will be held in The Oaks' gym on Friday, June 18 from 10am to 12pm. Details for selling items will be available soon. If you would like to volunteer to help with the sale, please let the school office know.

ERB Test Results for 3rd–10th Grades
Results from February's ERB test are now available. Please see the letter below from Mr. Dowers for further details. Students' individual results were emailed to parents this week.

The Oaks Conservatory is excited to offer a summer program! Offerings begin in June and include, private & group lessons, Musikgarten, Music Camp, art classes, and Music on the Field. The Oaks is excited to welcome you and your family to join us for several evenings of fellowship and music this summer at The Oaks' Music on the Field. Bring a picnic dinner, dessert to share with friends, drinks, and lawn chairs or blankets and come enjoy the beautiful weather, music, and friends. We look forward to seeing you there!

Gentlemen's Junior High Basketball Intensive
Mon.–Thurs., July 12–15, 3-5pm *for rising 5th–9th grades
The Oaks is excited to announce a Junior High basketball intensive summer camp Monday through Thursday, July 12th through 15th from 3:00 to 5:00pm. Coach Spencer Ansett will work with Oaks young men to develop and enhance various basketball skills (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, understanding the game's logic). The cost is $30 per student. To register, fill out the form below and return it to the school office. Payment may be made through the school office or Jupiter.

Additional sports camps for Grammar School students are in the development stage. Be on the lookout for details in the coming weeks.
Latin Boot Camp - Aug. 23–25, 9am to 1pm
Latin Magistri, Mr. Eric Indgjerd and Mr. Ross Tasche, will prepare incoming new students and their parents for Latin at The Oaks at this summer's Latin Boot Camp. The camp will run Monday through Wednesday, August 23rd through 25th from 9:00am to 1:00pm. The cost is $50 per student or $100 per family. Mark your calendars! To register, fill out the form below and return it to the school office. Payment may be made through the school office or Jupiter.

Logic & Rhetoric Schools
Secondary Spring Ball - Sat., June 5
*For current Oaks 7th–12th grade students and parents only
The Oaks is excited to host this year's Logic & Rhetoric School Spring Ball, exemplifying truth, goodness, and beauty. The ball will be held on The Oaks' field Saturday, June 5 from 6:00–9:00pm. Parents are welcome to attend with their 7-12th grade children. The cost is $15 per person. Please see the flyer below to sign up, view the dance instruction times and more details about this event. If you would like to help provide desserts for this event please contact Mrs. Cheri Van Horn.

Ladies: tea length or longer; with cap sleeves, wide straps, or sleeves; and dance shoes. Please be mindful of the rigorous nature of the dances, thus necessitating longer skirt lengths and higher necklines; modesty enhances beauty.

Teen Journalism Internship - Application Deadline - Mon., May 31
The Spokesman-Review is looking for high school students interested in its nine-week fully paid summer internship for four local students between the ages of 16 and 18. Students will learn to write news and features for a daily newspaper under the direct supervision of a senior editor on the newspaper's staff. The application deadline is Monday, May 31.

Produced by Dartmouth University, The Search podcast is a conversation about college admissions, sometimes drawing on Dartmouth's community as guests, but it's decidedly not about getting into Dartmouth. This project is a discussion, blast of advice, and reflection drawn from the Dean's resources at Dartmouth as well as colleagues from other colleges. Topics include navigating the college admissions process, finding a college that is a "financial fit," and what happens to your application after you hit the "submit" button.
Virtual Design Days - Registration Closes Tues., June 1
The University of Idaho's Virtual Summer Design Days camp offers exploration of the following disciplines:
- Architecture
- Art + Design
- Interior Architecture and Design
- Landscape Architecture
- Virtual Technology and Design
- Apparel, Textiles and Design
Students will immerse themselves in a virtual university environment while completing hands-on projects over the course of dynamic workshops taking place June 24 & 25. They will learn about design and explore majors in the topics that interest them. Registration closes June 1. The registration fee is $175 and covers all workshop materials, mailed directly to your home.
