Dennis Uniform - Memorial Day Weekend Sale

Dennis Uniform is having a Memorial Day Weekend Sale Friday, May 24th - Monday, May 27th. The flyer below has all the details.

Lost and Found - Wed. May 29

Lost and found items will be on the table in the MP foyer on Wednesday, May 29th. Please stop by and see if anything belongs to your family. All unclaimed items, except uniforms, will be donated at the end of the day.

Medical Release & Discipline Forms Due Wed. May 29

Medical release and discipline forms for the 2019-20 school year were sent home in your informational packet for the upcoming school year. Please be sure to complete these forms and turn them into the school office no later than Wednesday, May 29th. Electronic copies are available on the "Download Forms" page.

Yearbook Orders - Due Wed. May 29

It is time to place your yearbook order. If you would like to purchase a 2018-19 school yearbook please turn in a completed order form with payment to the school office no later than Wednesday, May 29th. And remember to upload your pictures from the school year to the Yogile link that was emailed to you previously.

POSTPONED: Civil War Re-enactment (grades 6-12) - Fri. May 31

Due to thunderstorms being forecasted on Friday, May 24 the re-enactment of The Battle of Stones River has been postponed to next Friday, May 31.

Volunteers, please confirm with the staff member you are volunteering with whether or not you are still available to volunteer on Friday, May 31 for this year's re-enactment. Upcoming Financial Aid Meetings - June 3 or 4 - Please RSVP

If you are interested in receiving financial aid for the 2019-20 school year, Mr. Dowers will be hosting two more informational meetings regarding The Oaks' tuition assistance program on Monday, June 3rd from 6:00-6:45 pm or Tuesday, June 4th from 8:00-8:45am. Attendance at a financial aid meetings is required in order to apply for financial aid in the 2019-20 school year. Please RSVP to the school office so that we can plan accordingly.

Mid-Terms 

Mid-terms were sent home with your child on Monday, May 20th. Please sign and return one copy to your child's homeroom teacher.

Last Pizza Lunch - Fri. June 7

The last day to use your pizza or snack punch cards will be Friday, June 7th. Pizza lunch will be available for all students on Friday May 24 and for Kindergarten - 5th grades on Friday, May 31. Friday, June 7th will be the last pizza lunch day of the school year. Any unused punches on your punch card will be donated back to the school at that time. Please contact Mr. Corey McEachran if you have any questions.

Friday Pizza Lunch Snack Option

Pizza lunch now includes a snack option! This is a separate purchase from the pizza slices.  The snack option includes chips, applesauce and a granola bar for an additional $2. Pizza slices remain the same at $1.25 per slice.

Secondary School

Science Fair - Thurs., May 23, 7pm

  • Are photographic images which use the rule of thirds in their composition more appealing to grammar school kids than pictures whose arrangement neglects to use this in its composition?
  • Which Tae Kwon Do kick packs the most force?
  • Are older horses better able to remember which bucket a treat is placed in than younger horses?
  • Do cookies made using a flour with a higher protein content spread less than cookies with a lower protein content?
  • Are natural alternatives to mouthwash as effective in removing unwanted oral bacteria?

These are just a sample of the various topics that will be presented by our 9th graders at The Oaks annual Science Fair. All families of students K-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend May 23, 7:00 pm. Mark your calendars!

NEW DATE: History Emphasis Day - Fri. May 24 - Supplies Needed!

The final History Emphasis Day of the school year has been moved to Friday, May 24. As the secondary students continue their study of ancient Israel with the themes of remembrance and celebration Mr. Ross Tasche will be leading them through a day of sourdough bread making. In order to do this we are in need of the following items:

  • Mixing Bowls - Each student needs to bring a 16" (min.) bowl, preferably glass or plastic
  • Digital food scales (aprox. 10)

Please contact Mr. Carter Stepper if you are able to provide any of these items and be sure your items are clearly labeled. Everything will be returned with the students at the end of the day.

The juniors have been working diligently in rhetoric and are almost ready to present their theses. All are welcome to come watch May 28th-30th in CE3. A complete schedule with times and topics is below.
