Special Cantabile Friday, May 3rd
The Spokane Lilac Festival Association will be joining us for Cantabile on Friday, May 3rd for a Teacher of the Year presentation. Please plan to attend this special Cantabile.

Spring Concert - Tuesday, May 7th - Sanctuary
The Oaks Spring Concert is Tuesday, May 7th. It promises to be a refreshing night of beautiful music and fellowship and we encourage you to invite your friends and family to hear the students as they sing praises to our God. There will be a dessert reception following the concert, so please plan to bring something to share. Below are the details for the evening.
Program Schedule:
6:45 pm - Prelude
7:00 pm - Program Begins
Student Arrival:
6:30 pm - Orchestra Students meet in Enhancement Room
6:30 pm - Band Students meet in Fellowship Hall
6:40 pm - Grades K-1 meet in Kindergarten Room
6:40 pm - Grades 2-6 meet in Fellowship Hall
6:40 pm - Grades 7-12 meet in Gym
What to Bring:
Please bring a plate of goodies to share. Drop them off in the gym before entering the sanctuary.
What to Wear:
Formal uniform is required. Please refer to the pictorial uniform handbook for specifics.
Grandparents Day - May 17
Please invite your Grandparents to join us on Friday, May 17th from 8:00-11:30am for The Oaks annual Grandparents Day. Grandparents will have the opportunity to visit classes, see student presentations, have a professional picture taken with their grandchildren, and enjoy refreshments. Parents are welcome to attend as well. All students will be released at 11:30am so that they may have lunch with their grandparents and then head to Cinderella in the evening.
Cinderella - May 16-18 at University High School Theatre
Purchase your tickets for Cinderella now. This year's musical production will be presented May 16-18 at University High School. To purchase your tickets click on the link on our homepage. Tickets will also be sold in the foyer of the MP building every Friday after school.
Promotional posters are available. Please stop by the school office and pick up a few to post in local businesses and public places. Please take only the amount you plan to post.
Civil War Re-enactment (6-12 grades) - Friday, May 24th - Transportation Help Needed
The Civil War Re-enactment is quickly approaching and preparations are underway. At this time we are in need of parents who are available to transport students to and/or from the Glenrose property on Friday, May 24th. Please see the attached letter for all of the details.

Yearbook Orders
It is time to place your yearbook order. If you would like to purchase a 2018-19 school yearbook please turn in a completed order form with payment to the school office no later than Wednesday, May 29th. And remember to upload your pictures from the school year to the Yogile link that was emailed to you previously.
2019-20 School Calendar
The 2019-20 school calendar is now available. Please note that dates may be subject to change and there are still events to be schedule. However, the information is accurate as far as we are able to determine at this time.
Friday Pizza Lunch Snack Option
Pizza lunch now includes a snack option! This is a separate purchase from the pizza slices. The snack option includes chips, applesauce and a granola bar for an additional $2. Pizza slices remain the same at $1.25 per slice.

- Are photographic images which use the rule of thirds in their composition more appealing to grammar school kids than pictures whose arrangement neglects to use this in its composition?
- Which Taekwondo kick packs the mast force?
- Are older horses better able to remember which bucket a treat is placed in than younger horses?
- Do cookies made using a flour with a higher protein content spread less than cookies with a lower protein content?
- Are natural alternatives to mouthwash as effective in removing unwanted oral bacteria?
These are just a sample of the various topics that will be presented by our 9th graders at The Oaks annual Science Fair. All families of students K-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend May 23, 7:00 pm. Mark your calendars!
