On February 5th The Oaks Board hosted the Annual Family Business Meeting. Parents were reminded of The Oaks mission and goals followed by a discussion about looking ahead. Information was shared about investment opportunities, facilities needs and future plans, as well as The Oaks’ five year plan. Please take a few minutes to review the meeting minutes here.

Senior Theses - April 2nd - 5th
The Seniors are almost ready to present their theses. The complete schedule, with topics and location, is now available on the calendar. All are encouraged to attend one or two of these presentations, as it is a capstone of an Oaks education.
Upcoming Financial Aid Meeting - April 10th
If you are interested in receiving financial aid for the 2019-20 school year, Mr. Dowers will be hosting an informational meetings regarding The Oaks' tuition assistance program on Wednesday, April 10th from 7:00-7:45 pm in MP#11. A second meeting will be scheduled soon. Attendance at one of these two meetings is required in order to apply for financial aid in the 2019-20 school year. Please RSVP to the school office so that we can plan accordingly.
Enrollment for New Families Begins April 1st
If you know someone interested in The Oaks and classical Christian education please let them know we begin open enrollment for the 2019-20 school year on Monday, April 1st. They can call the school office to set up an Initial Visit and learn more about The Oaks.
Cinderella Tickets On Sale Beginning April 1st

Spring Ball - Dress Checks Begin April 2nd
The Secondary Spring Ball is scheduled for Friday, April 26th. Dress checks for ladies will begin Tuesday, April 2nd. Please see the attached flyer for the details.
Secondary Events Fee - Due April 5th
In an attempt to simplify the process of collecting fees, this year we are combining the individual fees associated with our school day events, History Emphasis and Civil War Reenactment, into a one-time event fee of $20. Please fill out the attached form and turn it into the office with your payment no later than Friday, April 5th.
Classical Learning Test (7th-10th grades) - April 5th & 11th
The Oaks will be administering the Classical Learning Test on Friday, April 5th for 7th and 8th grades and Friday, April 11th for 9th and 10th grades. For further details please see the letter below from Mr. Dowers.

Countdown to College Workshop is April 8, 7:00 to 9:00 pm in MP 8. Parents and students in 9th - 11th grades are invited to join Mrs. Gibson, Director of College and Career Counseling, as she provides an overview of the college preparation, search, and application process, and the services she offers families as they prepare for their child's future. Boys State and Girls State are summer leadership and citizenship programs sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary for high school juniors. Applications are due March 31 and interviews begin in April.

Juniors interested in the United States Naval Academy are invited to apply to attend the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar. For one week in June, students will experience a taste of life at the Academy as well as kick-start your application journey for an appointment to the Academy. The application deadline for the summer program is March 31. Information may be found on their website.
Grove City College's "Junior Crimson Day"
Juniors may use a $300 voucher toward airfare and lodging to visit Grove City College during its "Junior Crimson Day," Saturday April 27. Students from The Oaks (and other Classical Schools from around the country) will enjoy a day of activities, faculty presentations, campus tours, and student panels to introduce them to this outstanding Christian college in Grove City, PA. Juniors received a voucher from Mrs. Gibson last month; more are available in her office. To register, click here.
