Jr. High Basketball Tournament - Friday & Saturday
The Mountain Christian League's Jr. High Basketball tournament is this Friday & Saturday, March 22nd & 23rd. All games will be played at the Spokane Fitness Center. The boys are ranked #3 and will play their first game at 1pm on Friday. The girls are ranked #5 and will play their first game at 9:15am on Friday. For further game times please visit the Mountain Christian League's website. We hope you'll come cheer on The Oaks this weekend.
Open House – Tuesday, March 26th – 9-11am
Our last Open House of the season is Tuesday, March 26th from 9-11am. Don’t forget to invite any families you know who would be interested in The Oaks. This is a wonderful opportunity to share the joy of classical Christian education with those unfamiliar with our school.
You can share this event several ways: print out the Postcard Invitation (also available in the school office), and by encouraging friends to view our Facebook Event.
Senior Theses - April 2nd - 5th
The Seniors are almost ready to present their theses. The complete schedule, with topics and location, is now available on the calendar. All are encourage to attend one or two of these presentations, as it is a capstone of an Oaks education.

The Oaks 2019 Graduation Ceremony
To accommodate our growing school we are pleased to announce that this year's graduation ceremony will take place at Fourth Memorial Church (near Gonzaga University) on Saturday, June 8th at 1:00pm. We are excited that this new venue will allow us to host a larger audience and allow the graduates to host a celebration for all their friends and family together afterwards.

Secondary School
Secondary Spring Ball Rescheduled For Friday, April 26th
The Secondary Spring Ball is rescheduled for Friday, April 26th. Dress checks for ladies will begin Tuesday, April 2nd. Please see the attached flyer for the details.
Secondary Events Fee - Due April 5th
In an attempt to simplify the process of collecting fees, this year we are combining the individual fees associated with our school day events, History Emphasis and Civil War Reenactment, into a one-time event fee of $20. Please fill out the attached form and turn it into the office with your payment no later than Friday, April 5th.
Countdown to College Workshop - April 8th
Countdown to College Workshop is April 8, 7:00 to 9:00 pm in MP 8 (note the new date). Parents and students in 9th - 11th grades are invited to join Mrs. Gibson, Director of College and Career Counseling, as she provides an overview of the college preparation, search, and application process, and the services she offers families as they prepare for their child's future. Boys State and Girls State Summer Leadership & Citizenship Programs - Applications Due March 31
Boys State and Girls State are summer leadership and citizenship programs sponsored by the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary for high school juniors. Applications are due March 31 and interviews begin in April.

Naval Academy's Summer Seminar - Application Deadline March 31
Juniors interested in the United States Naval Academy are invited to apply to attend the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar. For one week in June, students will experience a taste of life at the Academy as well as kick-start your application journey for an appointment to the Academy. The application deadline for the summer program is March 31. Information may be found on their website.
Grove City College's "Junior Crimson Day"
Juniors may use a $300 voucher toward airfare and lodging to visit Grove City College during its "Junior Crimson Day," Saturday April 27. Students from The Oaks (and other Classical Schools from around the country) will enjoy a day of activities, faculty presentations, campus tours, and student panels to introduce them to this outstanding Christian college in Grove City, PA. Juniors received a voucher from Mrs. Gibson last month; more are available in her office. To register, click here.
College Application Boot Camp
Make plans and mark your calendars: For families of juniors looking ahead to senior year, College Application Boot Camp will be September 3rd through 6th from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The registration fee is $150. Details will be forthcoming. See Mrs. Gibson for immediate questions.
