Tardy & Uniform Notices via Jupiter

All tardy and uniform notices are now being sent home via Jupiter.

4th - 6th Grade Attention Grabbers via Jupiter

The 4th-6th grade teachers are now sending attention grabbers home via Jupiter. Schoolwork will still come home with the student, but the attention grabber notification is now being sent home via Jupiter. This allows parents to be made aware of a failed or missing assignment in a more timely manner and parents no longer need to sign and return the paperwork. The kindergarten-3rd grade teachers will continue to send home paper attention grabbers. Questions regarding assignments may be directed to the student's teacher and questions regarding Jupiter may be directed to the school office.

Absentee Procedures

As we navigate school in the midst of Covid, we are working to standardize our procedures for absences and at home participation in Zoom classes. We want to support you in continuing your child's education even in the midst of extenuating circumstances!

Here are some guidelines to help us all through this time:

  • Please contact the office via phone or email before 8:00am indicating that your student will be absent for the day. Please indicate whether your child is quarantining/well enough to attend online class or is ill and needing homework assignments because he will not be able to attend Zoom class. Teachers will have Zoom portals open for their classes. Teachers will also be tracking Zoom attendance for their classes. If your child ends up not being able to attend Zoom class unexpectedly, it is your responsibility to contact teachers to request homework for that day.
  • Students are expected to attend Zoom with their screens turned on, wearing a uniform. If a student is so ill that she cannot "participate" via Zoom but wants to listen in, she may request permission from her teacher to turn off the screen for the class period.
  • Students who attend class via Zoom will be expected to complete all assignments (including exams) and turn them in on time. Teachers will be working to accommodate Jupiter turn-ins. Of course, if your child is too ill to keep up with schoolwork, we want to work with you and will do so, so please stay in contact with your child's teachers.

May the Lord give us grace to continue trusting in Him!

Traditio Blessing

Traditio has been a new adventure for The Oaks family, and as a staff, we are enjoying the challenge. One blessing of extended class periods that overlap with other classes is the ability to swap teachers for a lesson or series of lessons. In the next few weeks there will be several swaps taking place. The official Traditio teacher is not changing, but we still wanted to give you a heads up to some delightful changes to your child's schedules.
