Second Quarter Report Cards Posted on Jupiter

The 2nd quarter report cards will be posted on Jupiter beginning Friday, February 12. To view your child's 2nd quarter grades select "Report Card" from the menu. *Please note, hard copies are not being sent home this year.

Proverbs for Parents

Funeral Service - Fri., Feb. 12

Valley Fourth Memorial Church will be holding a funeral service the morning of Friday, February 12. We ask that all of our Oaks community please be aware & respectful of these visitors at this time.

Open House - Tues., Feb. 23, 9-11am - RSVP only

The second open house of the season will be Tuesday, February 23 from 9-11am, with a final open house on Tuesday, March 23. Please invite interested family and friends to attend. RSVP to Admissions Officer, Anya Schnell, at 509-536-5955 or anya.schnell@theoakscca.org. Private tours are also available.

Lost & Found - Wed., Feb. 24

Lost & found items will be set out in the MP foyer on Wednesday. Please stop by to see if anything belongs to your family. All unclaimed items, except uniforms will be donated at the end of the day. Thank you to all who come by the office to find missing belongings prior to them being placed out. We appreciate your help in keeping our lost & found pile low.

Mask Donations Wanted

The office's mask supply is running low. If you are able to donate masks of any size or type it would be greatly appreciated.

Uniform News!

Vest Order Update: Some of the formal sweater vests have arrived. If any part of your order is now available to pick up in the school office, you were sent an email. The office will send an update when the next shipment arrives.

Uniform Sale: Lands' End is currently running a promotion of 40% off school uniforms. Use the code "RECESS" with pin "3884" between now and February 15th to take advantage of this sale. Please visit the Land's End website for more information. To receive notifications of future sales, be sure to sign up for Lands' End newsletters. To do so, sign into The Oaks site (school code: 900069105), create an account, and then select to receive notifications for School Uniforms in your preferences. Mrs. Laurie Gardner, in the school office, will be handling uniform questions, so please feel free to contact her if you need any assistance.

2021-22 Uniform Options Available: Students may now wear the new plaid uniform items which are officially part of the 2021-22 school uniform. Families are able to order these items through The Oaks' Lands' End website and we will be posting the new official policy soon.

Kindergarten Enrollment Now Open!

Kindergarten registration for the 2021-22 school year is now open for new families. Help spread the word about The Oaks and encourage your friends and family to learn more about The Oaks and classical Christian education. Next steps could include:

  • Calling or emailing with questions
  • Signing up for an upcoming open house
  • Scheduling an initial visit

Re-enrollment Changes for '21-22 School Year

Re-enrollment for the 2021-22 school year will be changing. Please see the attached letter and frequently asked questions for details. This information was emailed home separately and hard copies were sent home with students.

Logic & Rhetoric Schools

Spokane Scholars

The Oaks' Logic & Rhetoric School faculty have named this year's Spokane Scholar nominees in six categories:

English: Cecily Lambert
Fine Arts: Samuel McEachran
Mathematics: Anna Sattler
Science: Ruth Dierdorff
Social Studies: Abigail Farley
World Languages: Abby Kwon

The Spokane Scholars Foundation wishes to recognize these outstanding scholars among 30 regional schools. Each nominee will also fill out an application for consideration of some monetary awards, ranging form $1,000 to $4,000. Winners will be named on April 19. Congratulations Oaks Spokane Scholars!

SAT School Day - Wed., Mar. 3
*Registration Deadline is Fri., Feb. 12

Beginning this year, The Oaks will offer annually the official CollegeBoard SAT test, held midweek at our school for all juniors, and for seniors who still need to take the SAT test as a graduation requirement. See the flyer below for details and to register. Deadline to register is Fri., Feb. 12.

Protocol 2021 - An Evening of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty - Sat., Apr., 17
* Deposit Due Fri., Feb. 26

All 9th through 12th grade students are invited to attend this year's protocol event on Saturday, April 17. This event will include a viewing of the Broadway hit musical, Hamilton, a guest speaker, and a semi-formal dinner at the stunning Belles on the Bluff venue. A $50 deposit will be due by Friday, February 26. Please see the attached letter and deposit form for further details. A hard copy has been sent home with the 9th-12th grade students.

* Business Formal Attire

Protocol attire this year will be business formal. Gentlemen should wear suit coats. Ladies may wear skirts, dresses, or dress slacks. Skirts and dresses should fall at or below the knee and all ladies' blouses/tops should have a sleeve and not be cut too low. Attire for both gentlemen and ladies should not be too form fitting. Shoes should meet the formal uniform shoe requirements (please see the uniform policy if needed).
