REHEARSAL DETAILS
Please Read Carefully & Respond Accordingly
***TRANSPORTATION FORMS ARE DUE BY FRI., DEC. 8***

During the school day on Tuesday, December 19, the entire student body will be rehearsing at The Fox Theater for that evening's concert. Below is the pertinent information for the day's rehearsal. Please read this information carefully and respond accordingly.

DAY-OF CONTACT: Parents needing to contact their child or their child's teacher on the day of the rehearsal are asked to please contact Mrs. Anya Schnell via text or phone. She will be The Oaks point person at The Fox theater for the rehearsal day. The school office will be staffed that day and ready to assist you in contacting Anya.

ATTIRE: Students are to be in casual everyday uniforms for the rehearsal, formal uniform is required for the concert.

WHAT TO BRING: Students should bring the following items and nothing extra (no backpacks, textbooks, lunch boxes, etc.)

  • Car Seat - If your child requires a car seat and will be riding home with someone other than the person who dropped them off, please leave a clearly labeled car seat with your child at drop-off.
  • Instruments - Students who are playing an instrument in the concert will need to bring their instrument with them to rehearsal and leave it at The Fox until the evening's performance. Instruments should be clearly labeled.
  • School Supplies - Secondary students will receive instructions from their teachers on what study items to bring. Grammar students' materials will be provided for them by their teachers. Please do not bring backpacks, etc.
  • Snacks - If you would like to help provide snacks for the day since students will not be having lunch at the Fox this year, please sign up on the Christmas Concert Rehearsal Snack Sign-up.

DROP-OFF [8:15 AM]

  • All students will enter through Doors A & B (see attachment). Parents may pull up to the curb along either 1st Ave or Sprague Ave, or into the west parking lot to drop off your child. Oaks staff will escort students into the theater. The rehearsal day has been shortened and we are therefore asking that everyone please make every effort to be prompt in your arrival so that we may begin rehearsing right away.

PICK-UP [1:00 PM] *Rehearsal will conclude at 12:45pm

  • K–5th grade only carpools - exit SE doors, Door B (see attachment)
  • Mixed & 6–12th grade only carpools - exit NE doors, Door A (see attachment)

Therefore, each family must complete the Christmas at The Fox: Rehearsal Transportation form on Jupiter for each of your children no later than Friday, December 8. The information you provide on the transportation form determines where your child will be picked up at the end of the rehearsal.

Please note that student drivers must bring money to park in a nearby public lot (no metered parking permitted). The theater's west parking lot is NOT available for student parking.

UNIFORM REMINDERS: In preparation for the upcoming Christmas concert please evaluate your child's formal uniform to help ensure that all students will be ready for this beautiful program. During picture day it came to our attention that we need to step up our game in following through on our published uniform requirements. As we seek to be more faithful in these areas, below are a few items we are asking all families to pay special attention to. For specific details please see the referenced page in the Uniform Policy. - Formal Uniform Chart (pg. 5)

  • Vests - embroidered with Oaks logo (pg. 3)
*New un-embroidered vests may be quickly exchanged in the office for new embroidered vests of the same size.

  • Tights/Socks - 6–12th grade ladies must wear black (or dark navy) footed tights or knee-highs; K–5th grade ladies must wear white footed tights or dress socks (either knee-highs or turn-cuff anklets) (pg. 5)

  • Personal Grooming - ladies' and gentlemen's hair should be clean and well groomed, worn in a traditional style; gentlemen's hair length should be short (pg. 2&3)

Students arriving out of uniform for the evening's concert will be required to make the necessary adjustments prior to the program's start. If necessary, parents may be asked to return home for an item that has been forgotten. Your attention to this matter is a kindness to all, helping to prevent anyone being put in an awkward position the eve of the concert. This information is being shared early to give families plenty of time to prepare and allowing us all to participate in a joyful event that brings honor to Christ and our community. Let's partner together in this endeavor.

Parking Lot Reminders and Clarification

In an effort to keep the parking lot a safe place for students during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up parents are asked to please adhere to the following guidelines.

  • Enter on the west side.
  • Drive up to the MP/Gym building and pull to the side if dropping off (leaving space for others to go around).
  • Drive out through the center lane, exiting on the east side.
  • Pull through a parking space with your vehicle facing east to park and drop off (limiting the need to reverse your car helps to keep the parking lot safe)
  • Exit on the east side.
  • Remind your children to walk along the edges and not to play in the parking lot.

Please reference the Parking Lot Flow picture for further details.

Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statues, And I shall keep it to the end.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law;
Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart.
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it.
Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness.
Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way.
Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You.
Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgements are good.
Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
