Parent Education Corner
This week is Holy Week, sometimes called "Passion Week," as each day commemorates Jesus' steady advance to the cross, that He might be "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." Scripture suggests that it was Thursday of this week when Christ initiated the sacrament of the Lord's Supper. This day is also called "Maundy Thursday" because of the new "command" (mandatum in Latin) that He gives His disciples and, by extension, us.
Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and girded Himself. After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. . . . So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you? Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them."
– John 13:12–17
In light of Christ's example, how are we as parents serving our children? How are we giving them the example of how to "love one another" in humility?

APRIL SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION
He is the image of the invisible God, firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
